The Power of Prayer
We have always preached and taught that each of us in our ministry believed in the power of prayer. That was easy. If you did a survey in most local churches, you would find very few individuals who would say that they do NOT believe in the power of prayer. Yet, you would also find that most believe their prayer lives could be better. We believed as a ministry we could model a more effective prayer ministry with congregations and individuals. SO, we decided to profoundly INCREASE both the quality and quantity of our prayers in the ministry. We asked each Staff member to increase his or her prayers related to PEM. We then established a Staff and Leadership Prayer Conference Call, each Monday at 9:00 p.m., for all our Ministry Staff around the nation (22 of us, from Georgia, Illinois, New York, Alabama, and Florida.) We began to meet on these calls in late 2007. The calls were not to do anything but PRAY. Heidi Lauer, one of our Staff Instructors, become our Staff Prayer Coordinator. Heidi is a great prayer warrior and passionately pursued our excellence in this ministry. On the Conference Call, we do three things – we have a “round” of lifting our Praises and Adoration to God. Next we have a “round” of sharing our Thanksgivings in prayer, thanking God for all the blessings that have been bestowed by God on our ministry and for using us to be servants of effectiveness. Finally, we bring our petitions before the Lord, praying for each of our Ministry Covenant churches, pastors and other needs we want to lift in prayer. The entire call takes about 35 – 45 minutes and anyone can call in from ANYWHERE, on a home phone, land line or cell phone. When we did this, we all underestimated the incredible impact it would have on our total ministry! We began to see God sending us churches to work with, and His hand directly guiding us in changing lives for Christ. God miraculously grew our Ministry Staff to 22, each person possessing amazing gifts that glorify Him. We are amazed at what has come from SO much consistent prayer!!!
